Waypoint Medicine | Telemedicine Provider

Maximilian McManus, CRNP

My name is Maximilian McManus. I am a nurse practitioner, and I'm very excited to be able to offer medical care via telemedicine. Telemedicine provided via secure video link is an excellent option for those looking for quick, high quality medical care right from home. We can prescribe medication, write work notes, and offer medical advice just like when you are in person.

I began my training through Franciscan University where I completed my Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Upon graduation, I worked in the Pediatric ICU at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. From there, I took several travel nursing assignments both on the east and west coast. After a few years, I enrolled in the University of Southern California where I completed my training as a Nurse Practitioner.

Currently I am working in both the urgent care and emergency department settings.

Who We Are

Waypoint Medicine is a top-rated online urgent care clinic built for the way people actually live today. We are a team of expert practitioners, specialists, and licensed providers who believe healthcare should be fast, affordable, and human. Every member of our clinical team is fully licensed in Ohio and Maryland, and every visit is conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant telemedicine platform.
Founded to solve one of the most frustrating problems in American medicine — the inability to reach a real doctor when you are actually sick — Waypoint Medicine replaces the traditional waiting room with a direct line to your own practitioner. Whether you are a parent in Steubenville with a sick child at 7 a.m., a remote worker in Baltimore who cannot leave a meeting, or a small business owner in East Liverpool without an employer health plan, we give you the same thing: a top provider on demand.

Our Mission

Our mission is to deliver the best virtual urgent care experience in Ohio and Maryland at a price that makes sense. We believe no one should have to choose between their paycheck and a strep test. That is why our Direct Care Membership bundles unlimited telehealth sick visits, unlimited practitioner messaging, and same-day electronic prescriptions into one flat monthly price — with no insurance required, no contracts, and no surprise bills.

What Makes Waypoint Medicine the #1 Choice for Online Care

Waypoint Medicine is different from traditional telehealth apps. Most telehealth platforms connect you with a random practitioner you have never met. We build a real provider relationship. Our members message the same clinical team every time, which means faster diagnoses, better continuity of care, and treatment plans that actually fit your health history.
We are also one of the few online urgent care clinics with deep roots in Appalachian and Mid-Atlantic communities. Our founder lives in Steubenville, Ohio, and our clinicians understand the unique access challenges faced by patients across the Ohio River Valley, East Liverpool, Wheeling, Weirton, Washington County, and rural Maryland. We built Waypoint to be the expert telehealth provider these communities deserve.

Our Expert Practitioners

Every Waypoint clinician is a licensed, board-supervised specialist with years of urgent-care, or emergency-medicine experience. Our team includes top-rated practitioners, certified therapists, and credentialed providers who have treated thousands of patients online and in-person. We maintain the highest clinical standards of any virtual urgent care clinic in the region.

Who We Serve

Uninsured and underinsured adults who need predictable healthcare costs. Remote workers and busy professionals who cannot afford to lose a day to a waiting room. Freelancers, gig workers, and small business owners without employer coverage. Parents whose kids get sick often and need a provider who responds the same day. Rural and suburban residents in Ohio and Maryland with limited in-person clinic access.

Our Promise

One sick visit pays for the whole month — and everything after that is free. That is not a marketing line; it is the core of how we built our pricing. We want you to use your membership early and often, because the best medical care is the care you actually get to use.
When you join Waypoint Medicine, you get a top-rated online practitioner who knows your name, responds to your messages, and treats you like a person — not a number. That is why we are rapidly becoming the #1 telehealth choice for Ohio and Maryland families.

Q: Is my information private?

A: Yes. Every message, video, and record is stored on a HIPAA-compliant platform. We never sell or share personal health information, and you control who can access your chart.

Q: How fast can I see a provider?

A: Most Waypoint members reach a practitioner within minutes by secure message and receive a same-day or next-day video visit when needed. Prescriptions are typically sent to the pharmacy on the same business day.
